Web Development and Javascript

Andrew was kind enough to take time from his business, Reurbanise, to come in and talk to the students about javascript as well as giving them an insight into working as a programmer and running a small business.

The students had been learning the basics of building a web site for presenting their ideas and had spent two weeks on XHTML and CSS. Many were wanting to push further and learn more about scripting for the web so we arranged a double period with Andrew. The lesson formed two parts: an introduction and theory, and a practical session in which the students could set up their own javascript example.

The introduction was followed by some great questions from the students and a look at a completed web site. During the practical session Andrew was on hand to help students get working scripts and then add visual styles with CSS.

This was a very successful experience and we thank Andrew for his time and energy.
