Hagley College of Computing
The Hagley College of Computing has been designed to be a creative environment for year 13 students who want to focus on Computing and Information/Communication Technologies. Imagine being able to develop your ICT skills and apply them to exciting areas such as robotics, web design, interface design and game design.
The Hagley College of Computing features a high degree of integration between computing topics. Instead of being taught everything from one area of the course before moving onto the next topic, students are taught fundamental skills early in the year and are later provided with practical projects to apply those skills within. These projects will draw on a number of skill areas which give students the opportunity to apply their skills in a real life environment. In the fourth term students are then able to choose an area to focus on for their individual project.
The Hagley College of Computing uses open source software to teach skills and encourages students to learn to transfer those skills into other applications and situations.
The Hagley College of Computing invites applications from students who are entering or have recently completed their final year of secondary education.
