Robotics - Sumo Wrestler
The students were required to design robots using Lego Mindstorm kits to enter a robot sumo wrestling competition. Here are the robots and the results of the competition.

Muffin Pie Bot
Standing around a massive 4 inches and probably weighing in at over one kilogram, I give you: The MuffinPieBot!
The MuffinPieBot hails from the Hagley College of Computing's Muffin Pie Robotics laboratories. It is designed with one intention in mind, to be a complete bully and push all the other robots around. It's tough outer shell can deflect even the strongest attacks from opposing robots and it's shape and size combined with an overall frightening exterior looks intimidating to the opponents and push their coding to its utmost limit!
Weighing so much means that it has the power to push the other robots clean out of the ring with no difficulty and it's well designed inner workings and programming work in it's favor giving it excellent maneuverability and speed. This bot is certainly going to be one to watch in the up coming Sumo Championships. Look out world! It's the MuffinPieBot!
ROBODOOM
Robodoom, a mass killing machine disguised in a simple looking shell. When aggravated you don't want to be with three meters of this mad killing machine as it launches it's wrath of doom!. With it's awesome state of the art line and touch censers this robot hunts around the ring looking for it's pray to annihilate.
Freaky Brix
Freakybrix is a beast of a robot, comprised of thick outer armour, slow but powerful engines and tracks, frontal touch sensors, laser sensors, and a heavy body. This robot is a tank, in every sense of the word, designed to keep pushing forward despite whatever stands in its way. It also plays the Doom theme. Thats just plain cool.
The Dragonfly
The Dragonfly is the ultimate in Cyber Wrestler technology. Combining the grace of Judo and the sheer ferocity of the berserker. This simple yet elegant 'bot floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. So much so, that we lost a technician while the prototype was being tested. At that point, it gained the nickname "The Mad Ninja" among the remaining technicians, who refused to continue testing.
Lo'Rida
The Lo'Rida is the combination of a dual touch sensor front scoop, tough armor around the back and sides, dual drivetrain track system, daul light sensors and a very low center of gravity. Advanced programming techniques mean the Lo'Rida will make other robots look like blocks of cheese.
