Robotics - Sumo Wrestler
The students were required to design robots using Lego Mindstorm kits to enter a robot sumo wrestling competition. Here are the robots and the results of the competition.

Spare Part
Spare Part has come from the slums of the Hagley Lego kits. Built with themaster mind intelligents that will blow your mind away!! Powered by a duelmotor system geared gown to the perfect speed/torque driving the overweighted track system. With both bumpers triggering sensors that will seekand destroy the opponent, Spare part is sure to wreak havoc.
Scorpion
Scorpion is a marvel in robotics ingenuity combining the insect world with robotics. Using a scorpion's deadly striking power and poisons with robotic components allowed us to create a deadly sumo wrestling robot. Scorpion's arsenal includes a front scoop that will get under the other robot, an outer shell like a scorpion thats in destructible and a pushing power of 2.5kgs!! Scorpion can sense out the other robots by its touch sensors at the front and sides. A deadly string from scorpion can kill the enemy within minutes.
The G.O.A.T (SE)
Weighing in at a massive unspecified weight, The G.O.A.T (SE) is wider than it is long. Fear the two mighty tractor tires on each side, fear the overgeared propulsion system, but most of all, fear the way in which it acts the goat! The G.O.A.T (SE) is a frightening masterpiece of botched planning and management, and is a force to be reckoned with if you weigh any less than a world shaking 50 grams.
Ziggy
The Ziggy bot cannot be stopped, it is powered by one motor and has an extreme turning ability with one motor dedicated to the steering, it can out maneuver any other robot and has the power to maximize its ability.
The Ziggy bot can move at extreme speeds and hit other robots like a freight train. We have also used high-tech dual touch bumpers that can sense other robots on the front and sides simultaneously. We also have two light sensors to control where this mad beast will be going. Although this robot may look like a cute little kitten, once its inside the ring all hell will be unleashed, with a defense system that can't be destroyed and an offensive system to match it, this robot will be triumphant!
